I personally like the game, but I see where you're coming from. The fandom does spoil a lot of stuff, to the point where if you just off-handedly mention playing the game some people will tell you instantly the "only" way to win, instead of letting people figure things out for themselves. The game is more about the characters than the gameplay, and according to the creator, you're not supposed to watch playthoughs until you've played for yourself, so your really not supposed to judge by that. Try playing the game for yourself before you pass judgement.
